Most villas in Bali have four or five bedrooms. Once a group passes ten people the choice narrows quickly, and the larger houses are not spread evenly across the island — they cluster in Canggu, Seminyak, Seseh and inland around Ubud and Tabanan. This guide lists the villas we work with that suit bigger groups, explains how two villas on one estate can cover ten bedrooms, and sets out what staff and services to expect.

The villas that sleep the most

Villa Area Bedrooms Max guests
Villa Kaba Kaba Tabanan 8 18
Villa Nag Shampa Tegallalang, near Ubud 8 16
Seseh Beach Villa II Seseh 6 16
Villa Bogor Canggu 6, with a guest cottage 14
Villa Marang Canggu 6 14
Villa Tjitrap Seminyak 6 14
Casa Evaliza Seminyak 5 13
Villa Noku Seminyak (beachfront) 6 12
Villa Akashi Canggu 6 12
Villa The Pala Ungasan 6 12

The maximum guest figure usually assumes some children sharing or extra beds in larger rooms. If everyone in your group needs a full bed, plan on two adults per bedroom and check the bedroom layout on each villa page — not every bedroom in a large villa is the same size.

Ten bedrooms or more: two villas on one estate

Genuine ten-bedroom single villas are rare in Bali. The more practical route for a group of 16 to 20 is two houses on the same estate: separate pools, kitchens and living areas, but one address, one arrival and one set of transfers. Multi-family groups often prefer this to a single large house, because each family keeps its own space and everyone meets for dinner.

Two estates on the Bukit clifftops work this way:

Both villas have to be free on the same dates, which is the main constraint. For July, August and the Christmas period, ask early.

Where the large houses are

Canggu has the deepest choice of six-bedroom villas on the island — Akashi, Bogor, Marang, Nica, Norbu and Nini Elly — with surf beaches and casual dining nearby. It suits groups with mixed ages who want activity outside the villa.

Seminyak is the only area where a large group can walk to dinner and beach clubs. Tjitrap, Windu Asri and the beachfront Villa Noku all have six bedrooms; Casa Evaliza takes up to 13.

Seseh is quieter, with dark-sand beach close to the villas. Seseh Beach Villa II is our largest coastal house at 16 guests. Groups here plan around a private chef rather than restaurants.

Inland, the two eight-bedroom villas — Kaba Kaba in Tabanan and Nag Shampa in Tegallalang — are the biggest single houses we offer. They suit reunions and retreats where the villa itself is the destination; the beach is an hour or more away.

The Uluwatu and Ungasan clifftops are mostly five-bedroom villas, so larger groups there usually take one of the two-villa estates above.

Staff and services

Almost all of our Bali villas come with daily housekeeping and a villa manager. Private chef service is available at most properties — at some it is part of the staff, at others meals are charged per sitting plus groceries. Drivers for the day, in-villa massage, babysitting and airport transfers for several vehicles can all be arranged in advance.

What is included varies from villa to villa, and we do not round it up. Every rate, service charge and condition is itemized in the written quotation before you commit.

Celebrations and weddings

A birthday dinner or anniversary for the group staying is normally fine. Anything with outside guests, a band or a wedding ceremony needs the owner’s approval in advance, may carry an event fee, and in some villages also needs permission from the local banjar (community council). Tell us the total event headcount, not just the number staying overnight, and we will confirm which villas allow it before you book.

Practical points for big groups

  • Transfers: a group of 14 usually needs two or three vehicles plus luggage space. From Ngurah Rai airport allow 30 to 45 minutes to Seminyak, 45 to 60 to Canggu or the Bukit, and 60 to 90 to Seseh, Tabanan or Ubud.
  • Dining: outside Seminyak, dinner for 12 or more is easier at the villa than in town. Plan the chef into the budget from the start.
  • Children: most Bali villa pools are not fenced. If you are travelling with young children, ask us to confirm pool fencing and depth for each villa you shortlist.
  • Bedrooms: decide early who gets which room. Detached pavilions and guest cottages are common, and some are a garden walk from the main house.

The full collection is at Bali villa rentals. Tell us your dates, total group size and the number of bedrooms you need, and we will come back with the villas that genuinely fit.
