Inari is the cultural heart of Finland's Sámi people and one of the most remote corners of Finnish Lapland. The village sits on the shore of Lake Inari, a huge, island-studded lake that freezes over in winter, with the Siida Sámi museum and nature center and the Sajos Sámi cultural center in the village.
Our Inari villa is a handcrafted log villa set in forest on the shore of Lake Inari, with a lakeside sauna, an outdoor jacuzzi and the lake in front of it. It comes fully staffed, so the days can be spent on the frozen lake, with reindeer herders or in the wilderness, and the evenings watching for the northern lights over the water.
Ivalo Airport is about 50 kilometers south of Inari village, with flights from Helsinki. Aurora season runs from late August to early April, and in summer the midnight sun lights the lake through the night.
