Whistler is the best large-group destination we cover outside Zermatt, and by a clear margin the best in North America. Two properties sleep more than 20, sixteen sleep 14 or more, and the valley layout means a big group is not squeezed into a village footprint the way it would be in the Alps. Here is exactly what exists.
The two biggest
Wedge Mountain Lodge — ten bedrooms, sleeps 26, at Wedge Mountain. The largest property we have anywhere outside Zermatt, and the only realistic single-roof answer in Whistler for a group in the mid-twenties. Shuttle access rather than ski-in/ski-out, which at this size is the normal trade.
Harmony Chalet — eleven bedrooms, sleeps 24, at Alta Vista. More bedrooms than Wedge Mountain for fewer guests, which makes it the better choice when the group is twelve couples rather than families with children sharing.
Sleeping 15 to 18
Altitude Retreat — eight bedrooms, sleeps 18, in Kadenwood and ski-in/ski-out. The largest ski-to-the-door property in the resort, and the one to take if the group is large and the skiing is the point.
At 16: Heritage Peaks (seven bedrooms) and Trails End Estate (six), both Kadenwood and both ski-in/ski-out; Compass West Estate (seven bedrooms) at Nesters; and Haus Heidi (six bedrooms), also Nesters and within walking distance of the village — an unusual combination at this size.
At 15: Aurora Estate (six bedrooms, Kadenwood, ski-in/ski-out) and Belmont Estate (seven bedrooms) at Stonebridge.
Sleeping 14
The deepest tier. Ski-in/ski-out: High Point Estate and Serenity Estate in Kadenwood, Snowridge 7 at Creekside, and Northern Lights 42 in Whistler Village itself — four bedrooms for 14, so a tight ratio, but ski access and the village on foot.
Also at 14: Horstman 4930 (five bedrooms) on Blackcomb, Cypress Sky Retreat (five bedrooms) at Cypress Place, and Falcon Cottage (six bedrooms) at Nordic Estates.
Bedrooms beat capacity
Whistler makes this trap easy to fall into because several of its properties carry high guest counts on modest bedroom counts. Northern Lights 42 sleeps 14 in four bedrooms; Harmony Chalet sleeps 24 in eleven. Those are completely different holidays, and the headline number hides it.
Write the group down as units before shortlisting — how many couples, how many children, who actually shares, whether anyone needs a ground-floor room — then filter on bedrooms first and capacity second. It takes one conversation and prevents the most expensive booking mistake in the category.
Ski access at this size
Above 18 guests there is no ski-in/ski-out option in Whistler at all — both of the very large properties are shuttle-served. That is less of a problem here than in the Alps: the valley is short, the roads are good, and at this group size you will want a driver or two vehicles regardless. Where to put a big group
Kadenwood if the skiing leads and the group is 18 or under. Nesters if you want size and the village on foot — Haus Heidi and Compass West both sleep 16. Getting a group there
Vancouver is about two hours away on the Sea to Sky Highway, and for a group of twenty that means coordinated vehicles rather than a single transfer — worth arranging with the booking rather than on arrival. Our concierge handles transfers, lift passes, hire, lessons and the chef.
Above 26 guests
