00 — Overview

Villa Corona is a 10,700 square foot beachfront villa in Puerto Morelos, built for 16 adults and 4 children across eight bedrooms on two levels plus a casita. The design is modern Mediterranean with Caribbean detailing — white volumes, arches and terraces — and the plan gives a group of twenty two living rooms and two dining areas rather than one shared space.

What separates it from the other villas on this beach is that it runs all-inclusive. Meals and beverages are covered by the rate: a chef who speaks English and Spanish cooks three times a day, and waiter service includes in-house premium liquors. Specialty foods and specialty liquors are the exception and are charged on top. Two housekeepers work 8am to 4pm, with a concierge, a butler and 24-hour security alongside.

The villa has a private gym and a spa and relaxation pavilion on site; 50-minute massages are bookable there at additional cost. Guests are met with a welcome glass of champagne on arrival, and a gala dinner facing the sea is included at the end of the stay.

01 — Indoor Living

Open, layered interiors

Two living rooms and two dining areas run indoors and out, which is what makes a party of twenty workable — a group can split between generations without anyone being pushed outside. The kitchen is fully equipped and the chef works from it rather than guests cooking around it.

A bar and lounge sits off the main living space with a SONOS sound system through the property. A private gym covers the fitness side, and the spa and relaxation pavilion is a separate on-site building. Ping pong, Jenga and cricket are provided, along with air conditioning, ceiling fans and Wi-Fi throughout. Laundry is operated by staff rather than left to guests.

02 — Outdoor & Pool

Designed for the day outside

A beachfront swimming pool with an ocean view sits at the centre of the outdoor space, with an oversized outdoor jacuzzi alongside it. Day beds, private beach loungers, umbrellas and a cocktail deck are set across the villa’s own private beach area, which fronts an undisturbed strip of white sand.

Outdoor living and dining areas, outdoor showers, a BBQ and grill and exterior lighting extend the day past sunset. Beach toys, flotation devices and beach towels are provided. The reef offshore keeps the water in front of the villa calm.

03 — Bedrooms

Villa Corona sleeps 20 — 16 adults and 4 children — in eight king bedrooms across four tiers. All eight have air conditioning, bathrobes and slippers, a TV, a safety box and Xpa toiletries.

Master 1 and Master 2 (levels 1 and 2) each have a king bed and a pull-out full-size bed, ocean views, a private terrace, a walk-in closet, and an ensuite bathroom with an outdoor jacuzzi tub on the terrace.

Deluxe 1 and Deluxe 2 (levels 1 and 2) each have a king bed, an ocean-view terrace and an ensuite bathroom with a shower.

Classic 1 and Classic 2 (levels 1 and 2) each have a king bed, a pull-out full-size bed and an ocean-view terrace. The Classic room on the lower level has an attached bathroom. The Classic room on the upper level does not — its designated bathroom sits immediately next door rather than inside the room. Worth allocating deliberately when the group splits rooms.

Casita 1 and Casita 2 are separate from the main house, each with a king bed, a Smart TV and an ensuite bathroom with a rainforest shower.
