Casa Magica sits on the white sand of Jade Bay in Akumal, among palms, with a short walk along the beach to the center of Akumal and its shops, restaurants and dive centers. The bay’s protected water has coral and tropical fish for snorkeling, sea turtles nest here in summer, and unusually for this coast the villa has a sandy entry into the sea.
A professional chef is included: an arrival dinner if you wish, up to three meals a day and a departure breakfast, with groceries and a US$25-a-day shopping fee charged on top. Maid service runs six days a week and a security guard is on duty overnight from 7 PM to 7 AM. Rates are based on 10 guests, with room for up to 12.
The open-plan living, kitchen and dining areas sit beneath a two-story domed brick ceiling, decorated in warm earth tones with wicker sofas, ceramics and potted palms. The solid wood dining table seats eight. Central air conditioning, ceiling fans, smart TVs with Netflix, Bluetooth speakers and 200 MB fiber-optic Wi-Fi run through the property, with safes in every bedroom and purified drinking water provided.
The swimming pool (not heated) sits beside the beach, with indoor and outdoor dining areas, a charcoal BBQ, hammocks and an outdoor shower. A double kayak and two paddleboards are provided for exploring the bay, and there is private parking.
Five bedrooms, each with a private bathroom, sleep up to 12: four with a king bed and one with two queens.
Main house: the first-floor master, with a king bed and ocean view; the second-floor master, with a king bed and ocean view; a second-floor guest room with a king bed and ocean view; and a second-floor guest room with two queen beds and a jungle view.
Guesthouse: a separate suite with a king bed, its own full kitchen, sitting area, air conditioning and balcony.
