Villa Sara is the house for a group of twelve who came to Cozumel for the water. The property sits right on the island’s west coast, and the two ocean-facing decks at the back give private access to a calm stretch of sea that is swimmable and good for snorkelling straight from the house. Dive tours pick up directly from the property, so a diving week does not start with a drive to a dock.
The centrepiece is a 50-foot infinity pool, 50 by 9 feet, set between the house and the water. Around it are sun loungers, beach towels, kayaks and paddleboards, all included with the stay.
The residence is newly built, 7,610 square feet of open, airy space with custom-made designer furnishings and contemporary decor throughout. Front gardens planted with palms and island greenery screen the house from the road; the sea side is all pool and deck.
Five oversized bedrooms take the twelve guests. Three have king beds and two have a pair of queens, and every bedroom has its own bathroom, a balcony and air-conditioning. One king suite sits on the ground floor with direct access to the pool terrace and garden; the master and the other king suite are on the second floor with pool and garden views.
A fully equipped kitchen with a Nespresso machine, filtered drinking water, satellite TV and high-speed Wi-Fi cover the everyday. Daily housekeeping and pool maintenance are included. A chef, grocery pre-stocking, concierge planning and sports and adventure activities are available at additional cost.
The villa is about a twenty-minute drive south of San Miguel, isolated by the tropical landscape and right by the sea. For divers, snorkellers and families who want Cozumel’s reef at the bottom of the garden, this is the address. Enquire for availability.
For groups of up to 22, this house and the adjoining Villa Eden can be booked together as Villas Alma, with both pools, both kitchens and the shared sea deck.
