Flamands is one of the largest beaches on St Barts: a long, wide arc of white sand on the island’s northwest coast, backed by green hills instead of a commercial strip. There is no boardwalk and only a handful of hotels on the sand, including Cheval Blanc St-Barth Isle de France, so even in high season the beach rarely feels crowded.

The beach faces open water. The sea is usually calm from spring through fall but can pick up swell in winter, when bodysurfers come out. Beyond the end of the road at Petite Anse, a footpath leads past natural rock pools toward Colombier, the island’s hike-only beach. Gustavia is a short drive away.
