Courchevel 1850 — the main address
1850 is what most people mean by Courchevel: the highest village, the closest to the widest spread of terrain, and home to one of the densest concentrations of Michelin-starred restaurants of any ski resort anywhere. It also holds the altiport. It is conspicuous, expensive and very good at what it does.

Courchevel Moriond (1650) — sun, families, value
Moriond faces south-east, so it gets noticeably more morning sun than 1850, and it has a long-standing reputation as the family choice: good nursery terrain, a calmer village, and prices that are simply lower for comparable chalets. Le Praz (1300) — the village that was there first
Le Praz is the one that still feels like Savoie: an old core of timber and stone around a small lake, at the bottom of the mountain, with a gondola up to 1850. It hosted the ski jumping at the 1992 Albertville Olympics and the jump still stands above the village. Restaurant prices bear no relation to 1850’s.
The trade-off is honest: you ride up in the morning and down in the evening, or take the free shuttle. For a group that values atmosphere and value over doorstep access, it is the best deal in Courchevel.
