Our Oahu villas do not sit on the North Shore or in Ko Olina — the two areas most associated with Oahu resort travel. Current inventory concentrates in the upscale residential coast between Honolulu and the windward side: Kāhala, Diamond Head, Kailua and Lanikai. It is a calmer, more residential base, closer to the city than the surf towns further north.
Kāhala
Kāhala is Honolulu’s most established beachfront neighborhood, just east of Waikiki and Diamond Head — quiet, residential, and home to some of Oahu’s largest private estates. It is our biggest single-area cluster on the island. Examples: Banyan House and The Kahala Mansion.
Diamond Head
Villas at the base of the Diamond Head crater put guests within walking or short driving distance of the Diamond Head hiking trail and Waikiki’s restaurant scene, while still sitting in a quieter beachfront setting than the hotel strip. Examples: Diamond Head Grand Escape and Diamond Head Beachfront Estate.
Kailua and Lanikai
On the windward side, Kailua and neighboring Lanikai have some of the calmest, most turquoise water on the island — a favorite for kayaking out to the offshore Mokūlua islands. It is a more relaxed, beach-town alternative to the Honolulu-adjacent areas, about 30 to 40 minutes from the airport. Example: Paul Mitchell Estate.
Getting there
Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu is the arrival point for all Oahu villa areas. From the airport, Kāhala and Diamond Head villas are a short drive of roughly 15 to 25 minutes; Kailua and Lanikai run closer to 30 to 40 minutes. Honolulu traffic can be significant during morning and evening peak hours, so plan transfers and activity departures with some buffer.
What to do nearby
The Diamond Head State Monument trail is a moderate, roughly 45-minute hike to panoramic views above Waikiki, best done early before heat and crowds build. Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve, a short drive from Kāhala and Diamond Head, is one of Oahu’s strongest snorkeling spots — advance online reservation is required and daily visitor numbers are capped. Kailua Beach offers some of the island’s best conditions for kayaking to the Mokūlua Islands. Pearl Harbor National Memorial, including the USS Arizona Memorial, is a half-day trip and requires advance ticket reservations. Honolulu’s dining scene, particularly in the Kaimukī and Kakaʻako neighborhoods, is one of Hawaii’s strongest and worth planning ahead through concierge.
