Waialua Beach House is a six-bedroom property on Oahu's North Shore, made up of a five-bedroom main house and a separate one-bedroom guest cottage. Direct beach access leads from the grounds to the sand, where a protective reef makes the water suitable for swimming and snorkelling. The main house is built around an open kitchen and a dining room with a gas fireplace, with custom pocket doors folding back to an open-air dining area. A private pool with a safety fence, a barbecue and a children's play area sit outside. The property is let as a monthly rental on a fixed 30-day term and suits families and larger groups.

01 — Indoor Living

Open, layered interiors

The kitchen runs on extensive counter space, two sinks, stainless appliances and bar seating. The dining room has a gas fireplace and a wall of custom pocket doors that folds back to the open-air dining area, connecting through to a living space with generous seating and a large television. Downstairs there is a second common area with a sectional, another television and a ping pong table, plus a dedicated playroom for children. Wireless internet, cable, a DVD player and library, a stereo, and a washer and dryer are in the house, with split air conditioning and ceiling fans throughout.

02 — Outdoor & Pool

Designed for the day outside

The pool sits behind a safety fence, with a barbecue grill alongside and a children's playhouse, slide and swings on the lawn. Direct beach access leads to the sand, where a protective reef makes for good swimming and snorkelling. There are lanais off the main bedrooms, a garden, a private yard and an outdoor shower. The guest cottage keeps its own outdoor courtyard, outdoor shower and seating for five. Beach chairs, towels, an umbrella and a beach bag are kept for guests.

The primary suite has a California king, a private ocean-view lanai, a fireplace, a walk-in closet, and an ensuite with jetted tub, separate shower and dual sinks. A junior suite has a queen, its own ocean-view lanai and an ensuite with jetted tub. Two double bedrooms with mountain-view lanais share a Jack-and-Jill bathroom. A fifth room holds a queen sleeper sofa and doubles as a media room. The cottage loft has a California king and ensuite.
