Chalet Elegie sits in the peaceful Dou du Pont area of Méribel, around 300 metres from the village and about a five-minute walk from its restaurants and bars. La Chaudanne, Méribel's main lift hub and the gateway to Les 3 Vallées, is roughly 900 metres away: about ten minutes on foot or two minutes by car, and the ski school meeting point is closer still. The chalet sleeps 12 guests in six bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. A large living room with floor-to-ceiling windows, mountain views and a wood-burning fireplace is the centre of the house, and the entrance level holds an indoor counter-current pool, a sauna, a games room and the ski and boot room. It is not a ski-in, ski-out chalet, but its position between the village and the lifts makes it an easy base for families and groups who like to walk to dinner.

The main living space

The open-plan living, dining and kitchen area has floor-to-ceiling windows, two sofas, a smart TV and a wood-burning fireplace, with a dining table that seats 12. The kitchen has a dishwasher, electric hob and a Sage coffee machine. On the entrance level are the indoor counter-current pool, a sauna for two to three people, a games room and a ski and boot room with boot warmers. A washing machine and dryer are provided, and Wi-Fi, utilities, firewood and snow clearing are included.

A balcony off the living area has outdoor seating and mountain views, several bedrooms open onto a balcony or terrace, and there is parking on site.

Sleeping for 12

Six bedrooms sleep 12, and every room has its own bathroom. On the first level, the master bedroom has a king-size bed, an en-suite shower room and balcony access; the second room is a double with an en-suite shower; the third can be set up as a double or twin, with an en-suite shower and balcony. On the second level, the fourth room is a double with an en-suite shower and terrace access, and the fifth and sixth rooms can each be set up as a double or twin, one with a shower and one with a bath. Four of the six rooms can be made up as twins, which suits groups of friends as well as families.
