About this Chalet

Chalet Barolo in Courchevel 1850

Chalet Barolo — interior and outdoor living spaces

00 — Overview

Chalet Barolo is a six-bedroom chalet in Courchevel 1850, built in 2020 and arranged over four floors with an internal lift. It sleeps twelve across six en-suite bedrooms and 300 square metres.

The position is the first thing to know: thirty metres from the Epicea piste, a red run dropping to Courchevel Village and Le Praz and opening the rest of the Three Valleys. The nearest lift is 150 metres away, and the Croisette hub, ski school meeting points and the restaurants and shops of 1850 are around 400 metres, or a five to ten minute walk.

The second is the wellness floor – an indoor swimming pool, an indoor jacuzzi, a hammam and a private massage room. Among six-bedroom chalets in 1850 that combination is the differentiator, and it is what makes the house work on a weather day as well as a ski day.

It is self-catered, which is a deliberate choice rather than an omission. Daily cleaning, beds made before arrival, linen, slippers and bathroom products are all included; a chef and meals are not. Groups that want full board should look elsewhere in the collection.

01 — Indoor Living

The main living space

The entire top floor is a single open-plan living, dining and kitchen space in a U shape, under high ceilings and traditional wooden beams. Bay windows fill it with light, a wood-burning fireplace anchors the lounge end, and the kitchen at the other end has a raised breakfast bar.

The long dining table sits at the centre of the room, between the two.

The wellness floor holds an indoor swimming pool, an indoor jacuzzi, a hammam and a private massage room. A ski room with heated boot warmers sits at entrance level, and an internal lift connects all four floors.

02 — Mountain & Wellness

Built around the mountain

A spacious south-west facing balcony runs off the living floor, with views down over the Epicea piste and the afternoon and evening sun.

A garage and one outdoor parking space are included – two spaces in total.

03 — Bedrooms

Sleeping for 12

Six double bedrooms, all en-suite, spread across three floors.

First floor: the master, with an en-suite bathroom with shower, and a second double with an en-suite bathroom with shower.

Ground floor: three doubles, each with an en-suite shower room.

Lower ground floor: one double with an en-suite shower room.

Six bedrooms, six bathrooms, twelve guests: two per room throughout. The internal lift reaches every floor, which is worth knowing for a house with bedrooms on three levels.

Destination Profile

Courchevel

Courchevel is the most prestigious address in the French Alps — the crown of the Three Valleys, the largest linked ski area in the world, with 600 kilometers of pistes on a single pass. Our chalets are spread across its tiered villages: the celebrated 1850 at the top, with its ski-in/ski-out access and designer boutiques; the sunny, family-friendly slopes of Moriond 1650; and the quieter, more traditional Savoyard character of Village 1550 and Le Praz 1300. Most combine handcrafted alpine architecture — old wood, stone, and open fires — with spa suites, pools, and south-facing terraces onto the pistes. Courchevel sets the benchmark for alpine luxury. It has more Michelin-starred restaurants than any other ski resort, an altiport for private arrivals, and a level of chalet service — private chefs, drivers, in-chalet spa therapists — that is unmatched in the Alps. The skiing is vast and beautifully groomed, suiting everyone from first-timers on the wide Moriond runs to experts exploring the couloirs and the links across to Méribel and Val Thorens. Beyond the slopes there is winter paragliding, a toboggan run, and some of the finest mountain dining anywhere. The chalets suit families, groups of friends, and celebrations who want the finest alpine service and ski-in/ski-out convenience — four- to eight-bedroom homes with full staff, private chefs, wellness areas, and concierge planning. Courchevel is reached in around two hours from Geneva, Lyon, or Chambéry airports, or minutes by helicopter and its own altiport. The resort’s Aquamotion centre — the largest aquatic and wellness complex in the Alps — along with ice-driving, winter ballooning, and the toboggan run give non-skiers plenty to fill the days. Share your dates, group size, and whether you want 1850’s ski-in/ski-out prestige, sunny Moriond, or the quieter charm of Le Praz, and we’ll send a curated shortlist of Courchevel chalets — every rate, service charge and booking condition itemized in the written quotation.
Each village has its own collection: Courchevel 1850 for the finest ski-in/ski-out estates and the resort’s most prestigious address; Courchevel Moriond (1650) for sunny, family-friendly slopes; Courchevel Village (1550) for a quieter base with quick access to the main ski area; and Courchevel Le Praz (1300) for the original Savoyard village and the best value in the resort. Explore any of them, or share your dates and group size and we will tell you honestly which suits you.
