Chalet Continental is a 230 square metre chalet in Courchevel 1850, sleeping ten across five en-suite bedrooms on two levels.

The location is the reason to book it. The chalet sits on the edge of the Chabichou piste with genuine ski-in ski-out access – skis on at the door – and the resort centre is thirty metres away, about a minute on foot. In 1850 that combination is rare: most chalets give you one or the other.

It is built in wood and stone in the traditional alpine way, with contemporary furniture set against it. Downstairs holds a hammam, a home cinema and a bar, alongside the ski room, wine cellar and laundry.

Two points to settle before booking. The owner states that two of the five bedrooms are windowless, without saying which. And one of the five bedrooms has bunk beds rather than a double, which matters if you are ten adults rather than a family.
