Area Context

About Montriond

Montriond is a separate commune immediately north of Morzine and Avoriaz, on the western shore of Lac de Montriond — also called Lac Vert — Haute-Savoie's third-largest lake, formed by a landslide dam. It's a traditional stone-and-wood Savoyard village with a 16th-century Baroque church and around 960 residents, connected to Avoriaz's slopes and the wider Portes du Soleil ski area via the Ardent gondola. The nearby Lindarets goat hamlet is a popular family stop.

Montriond is a small hamlet on the edge of Morzine, with its own bars right on the doorstep and central Morzine — along with the Super Morzine and Pléney gondolas into the Portes du Soleil ski area — about a five-minute drive away. It suits guests who want a quieter base without giving up easy access to Morzine’s village and lifts. Geneva Airport is the usual gateway. Share your dates, group size, and how close to the lifts you want to be, and we’ll send a curated shortlist of Montriond chalets, booked direct with no platform fees.
