Villa Estrella Mar is a 22,000-square-foot Spanish colonial estate on 380 feet of waterfront in Amapas, Puerto Vallarta. It looks out over Banderas Bay, Old Town and the mountains, with direct access to a secluded beach and to Los Muertos Beach, and the Romantic Zone is about a 10-minute walk away.

The main house has seven suites for up to 16 guests. The Carriage House, a separate apartment at the entrance with its own living room, kitchen and king bedroom, can be added for two more, bringing the total to 18.

Two elevators link the main levels: one from the entrance to the living room, and one from the master suite down to the living room, the junior master and twin rooms, and the pool level. A heated pool with a water feature sits above the beach, and stairs lead from the pool level down to the sand.

Two private chefs cook two meals a day, served by housemen who also tend bar. Daily housekeeping and laundry are included, and food and drink are charged at cost.

The villa’s interiors feature a blend of Spanish colonial architecture and Mexican artistry. Expansive living areas with high ceilings and large windows frame the ocean views, while the open-plan design ensures a smooth flow between spaces. Original artwork adorns the walls, and the use of local materials adds warmth and character to each room.

Designed for the day outside

A newly re-tiled heated pool with a water feature and programmable lights sits above the ocean, with terraces for shaded seating and dining. Stairs lead from the pool level down to the secluded beach, which also gives access to Los Muertos Beach.

Sleeping for 18

Seven suites in the main house, each with its own bathroom, plus the optional Carriage House. Up to 16 guests in the main house, or 18 with the Carriage House.

Master Suite: the only suite on the top floor, over 4,000 square feet, with a wrap-around balcony.
Junior Master Suite: the second-largest bedroom, with a round soaking tub in the en-suite bathroom.
Terrace Suite: king bed, private balcony and a spacious bathroom.
Cottage Suite: king bed, vaulted ceilings and a bathroom with a dual shower.
Poolside Suite: two queen beds, overlooking the pool and the ocean, with a private outdoor shower and jacuzzi tub.
