Villa Bellamar is a private estate of 13 suites on Half Moon Bay in Akumal, a calm bay sheltered by a coral reef, about 20 minutes north of Tulum and 30 minutes south of Playa del Carmen. It sleeps 26 to 39 guests comfortably, up to a maximum of 52, which makes it one of the few villas on this coast for very large families, weddings and retreats.

A private chef cooks breakfast, lunch and dinner every day, and the household staff includes two housekeepers, a gardener with daily pool care, check-in and check-out concierge, and a night guard. The estate sits in a gated community with CCTV at the entrances, is wheelchair accessible and welcomes pets. Weddings and events are hosted by arrangement.

An open-plan living and dining room is where the chef’s meals are served, with a fully equipped kitchen and purified water on every level. There is an air-conditioned multipurpose room, a media room with a 60-inch screen, a stereo, smart TVs and Wi-Fi, and games including ping pong, air hockey and table football. Every suite has air conditioning, ceiling fans and a safe; high chairs and cribs are available.

The 1,500 sq ft L-shaped pool has a wet bar, alongside a lounge, an oceanfront jacuzzi and open-air showers. The rooftop terrace has 360-degree views. Furnished verandas, hammocks, a charcoal BBQ, outdoor dining, loungers, beach umbrellas, beach towels and kayaks complete the outdoor spaces, with the calm water of Half Moon Bay in front for snorkeling.

Sleeping for 39

Thirteen suites of about 35 sq m, each with its own bathroom with tub and shower, air conditioning, ceiling fans and a safe. Suites are set up with either a king bed or twin beds, and some also have a sofa bed and a trundle.

The estate sleeps 26 to 39 comfortably and up to 52, with a maximum of four people per suite (two adults and two children, or three adults and one child). The owner does not publish which suites have which beds, so we confirm the layout against your group before you book.
