Open, layered interiors
Great room with mezzanine lounge and Bose sound; fully equipped kitchen with gas stove, Nespresso and breakfast bar; separate air-conditioned TV cottage with Sonos and Apple TV.
— Lorient is a quiet village on the north coast with a long, calm beach, a bakery and a supermarket nearby, and a surf break at one end of the bay; St Jean and Gustavia are a short drive away.
In the 1980s, the first owners of Manoir de Lorient had an 18th-century manor house dismantled in Normandy and shipped to St Barts, where it was rebuilt in a tropical garden in Lorient. Recently renovated, the manor is now the centrepiece of a single-level estate of pavilions linked by a large heated mirror pool.
The great room, with a mezzanine lounge above, opens onto the pool terrace; a professional-grade kitchen serves indoor and outdoor dining, and a separate air-conditioned cottage is set up as a TV and media room. A gazebo, parasols and palm-shaded lawns complete the garden.
Seven bedrooms are spread through the pavilions: six king rooms with private bathrooms and a children’s room with four single beds sharing a bathroom. Lorient Beach, one of the island’s calm family beaches, is a few steps away, ideal for multi-generation holidays, weddings and anniversaries.
