Destination Profile

Big Island

The Big Island is Hawaii at its most elemental — the youngest and largest of the islands, where active volcanoes, snow-dusted summits, black-sand beaches, and lava deserts sit within a single day’s drive. Our villas concentrate along the sunny Kohala Coast on the island’s northwest side, within the prestigious resort communities of Mauna Lani, Mauna Kea, and Hualalai, where fairways and lava fields meet white-sand coves. Most are single-level, indoor-outdoor homes with private pools, set among championship golf and steps from the beach clubs and calm swimming bays. The Big Island rewards the curious. Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park, home to the active Kilauea, is a few hours south; Mauna Kea rises nearly 4,200 meters, its summit one of the world’s great stargazing sites; and the Kohala Coast itself offers some of Hawaii’s best snorkeling, manta-ray night dives, and green sea turtles basking on the sand. The island’s diversity of climates — from the dry Kohala coast to the lush Hamakua valleys and the coffee farms of Kona — means a single trip can span rainforest, desert, and beach. The villas suit families and groups who want space, calm, and the island’s natural drama with resort amenities close by — homes with concierge planning, many inside resort communities, where beach-club and golf access depends on the home. The Kohala Coast is served by Kona International Airport, a short drive away, with direct flights from the US mainland. The island is also known for its Kona coffee and macadamia farms, its paniolo cowboy heritage in the upcountry town of Waimea, and the rare green-sand beach at Papakōlea near its southern tip. Share your dates, group size, and whether you want Mauna Lani, Hualalai, or Mauna Kea, and we’ll send a curated shortlist of Big Island villas, with every rate, service charge and booking condition itemized in the written quotation.

How many guests does Lauleʻa ʻOhana sleep?

Lauleʻa ʻOhana sleeps up to 16 guests across 8 bedrooms, with 9 bathrooms. What a group can comfortably use depends on the room-by-room configuration rather than the bedroom count alone, so we confirm the layout against your party before you book.

Where is Lauleʻa ʻOhana located?

Lauleʻa ʻOhana is oceanfront: it sits on the water. Oceanfront does not always mean sand directly in front, so we will tell you exactly how guests reach the water and the nearest beach before you book.

How much does Lauleʻa ʻOhana cost, and how do we book?

Rates are quoted per stay rather than published as a single number, because they move with the season, the length of stay and the size of the group, and taxes and fees vary by destination. Send your dates and we confirm availability and the rate with the owner before anything is charged.

Every stay is concierge-handled. Chef, transfers, wellness, excursions, provisioning — all coordinated through a single specialist.
