Completed in October 2025, Dufourspitze Lodge is a newly built five-bedroom townhouse in Zermatt, designed by Studio Birk with interiors curated by Adelene Smith Ng. The property is positioned just 100 metres from the Klein Matterhorn Express lift and an eight-minute walk from the village center, placing it within one of Zermatt’s most direct lift-access locations while keeping the resort center within easy reach.

The residence spans 240 square metres across multiple levels, connected by an oak spiral staircase or a private lift. Five king suites are individually styled with Vi-Spring beds that can be configured as super-king doubles or twins, alongside bespoke Robert Langford furniture, Porto Romana lighting and underfloor heating throughout. Bathrooms are finished to a spa standard, with the principal suites featuring free-standing baths and separate walk-in showers, and the remaining bedrooms each holding their own ensuite shower room.

At the centre of the home, an open-plan living area combines smoked oak herringbone flooring, a fireplace and floor-to-ceiling windows framing Matterhorn views, with an OLED television and integrated sound system for evenings indoors. A dining table seats up to twelve guests, and the fully equipped kitchen, fitted with V-ZUG appliances including an oven, combi-oven, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, Nespresso machine and wine fridge, is set up to support either a private chef or independent self-catering.

Guests also have access to an in-house wellness area with an indoor pool, sauna, steam room, outdoor jacuzzi and fitness studio, along with a treatment room offering in-house spa therapies. Catering can be arranged flexibly, with self-catered, catered, half-board and bed-and-breakfast options available, and full concierge service is provided.

The main living space

Indoor living at Dufourspitze Lodge centres on an open-plan living area finished with smoked oak herringbone floors, a fireplace and floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the Matterhorn. An OLED television and integrated sound system support quiet evenings in, while the dining table, seating up to twelve guests, anchors the space for group meals and longer alpine dinners.

The kitchen is fitted with handmade birch cabinetry and V-ZUG appliances, including an oven, combi-oven, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, Nespresso machine and wine fridge, giving guests the option to self-cater or bring in a private chef for catered stays. Underfloor heating runs throughout the property, and each of the five king suites has its own ensuite bathroom, with the principal suites offering free-standing baths and separate walk-in showers.

An oak spiral staircase and a private lift connect the property’s floors, useful for guests moving luggage or mobility equipment between levels, and a dedicated ski room provides on-site storage for equipment between days on the mountain.

Dufourspitze Lodge’s outdoor living centres on its south-facing balconies, which open onto uninterrupted views of the Matterhorn and the surrounding alpine landscape. An outdoor jacuzzi extends the property’s wellness offering into the open air, complementing the indoor pool, sauna and steam room inside.

The chalet sits 100 metres from the Klein Matterhorn Express lift, keeping ski access close at hand, while the village centre is an eight-minute walk away for guests wanting to reach shops, restaurants and après-ski without a car. This combination of confirmed, quantified proximity to both the lift and the village gives guests a walkable base rather than one reliant on shuttle transport.

Dufourspitze Lodge sleeps up to 10 guests across five individually styled king suites. Each bed is a flexible Vi-Spring box-spring design that can be configured as a super-king double or twin, dressed in fine linens with bespoke Robert Langford headboards and bedside tables, Porto Romana lighting and handmade birch wardrobes. Plush natural wool carpets and underfloor heating run throughout the bedrooms, and every suite is individually styled rather than following a single repeated layout.

Every suite has its own ensuite bathroom finished with Valstone flooring and hand-applied tadelakt walls. The principal suites go further, with free-standing baths, separate walk-in showers and private WCs, while the remaining suites each have their own shower room with bespoke cabinetry and Cielo basins.

This ensuite-per-room layout, combined with the flexible bed configurations, allows the property to be arranged for couples, families or a larger mixed group without guests needing to share bathroom facilities. It is a practical advantage for a party of up to 10 booking across a full week, where consistent access to a private bathroom each morning matters more than it might on a shorter stay.

Dufourspitze Lodge is available on a self-catered, catered, half-board or bed-and-breakfast basis.
