Open, layered interiors

Sculptural glass doors open into a great room where vaulted wood ceilings rise above travertine floors and a spiral staircase turns upward. Slide the glass walls back and the room joins the covered lanai, with a media lounge and a formal dining table set apart for quieter hours. The main kitchen looks past the living area to open ocean, so whoever is cooking keeps the view; a long island seats a crowd, and the appliances handle beach-day lunches and private chef dinners alike. The guest house has its own full kitchen, which earns its keep when eighteen people are on different schedules. Central air conditioning runs throughout and both homes have their own laundry.

Afternoons divide between two pools. The heated pool on the main lawn runs beneath coconut palms, with an outdoor bar and shaded pavilion daybeds close enough to hear the surf. At the guest house, a second heated pool and Jacuzzi lounge sit under custom wood pergolas, quieter and suited to a late swim. Between the two are the barbecue, the lawn, and the gate that opens straight onto the sand. There is an outdoor shower, a private yard, and lanais off the main rooms.

The main house holds six: a primary with an Asian king and corner walls of glass framing palms and ocean, four further Asian king rooms, and a sixth with a king. The guest house adds two California king bedrooms and a den above the garage fitted with two sets of twin-XL-over-queen bunks. Bathrooms run to lighted vanities and walk-in showers, with a freestanding soaking tub in the primary.
