Casa Balena is a six-bedroom estate in La Punta Estates, the gated enclave at the western end of the Punta Mita peninsula, designed by the Mexican architecture practice Bernardi + Peschard. It sits on 1.7 acres with roughly 18,000 square feet of construction, looking out over the Pacific, Bahia de Banderas and the Bahia golf course.
The house is built around a 37-metre infinity pool shaped like a whale – balena – set into the architecture rather than placed beside it. Interior volumes open onto terraces, shaded lounges and landscaped gardens, so the living space runs continuously between indoors and out.
Six bedrooms sleep up to fourteen guests across ten beds. Every bedroom is en suite and opens onto its own terrace, and the house has eight bathrooms in total. Two bedrooms face the ocean, one the golf course and three the gardens.
Casa Balena is fully staffed. A private chef cooks breakfast, lunch and dinner, and a butler, a house manager, daily housekeeping and a concierge team run the house during the stay. A six-seater golf cart is included. Food, beverages and groceries are charged separately.
