The suburb’s position also makes it a practical base: it’s the shortest drive to both the airport and the Athens city center of any Riviera town, useful for travelers combining a villa stay with time exploring the Acropolis and the historic center. Housing here ranges from apartment blocks near the center to villas in the quieter residential streets toward Voula, generally with a more urban, established feel than the newer developments further south. For visitors who want beach access, restaurants, and a night out within walking distance, rather than a secluded retreat, Glyfada is the Riviera’s most connected and sociable address, and its marina and shopping streets remain busy well after the beach clubs further south have gone quiet for the evening.
