Staffed villas and chalets where a private chef cooks for you — across the Caribbean, Mexico, Greece, Thailand, and the Alps.
Ask anyone who has stayed in a staffed villa what they remember, and it is rarely the marble. It is the food — breakfast on the terrace while the children are still in the pool, a long lunch nobody had to shop for, dinner cooked from that morning’s market. A private chef is the single upgrade that changes a villa holiday most, and on the homes in this collection it is available.
Being straight about how it works, because it varies. On some villas a chef is included in the rate — the cooking is simply part of the house, and you pay for the groceries. On most, a chef is arranged on request, typically a daily rate plus food. Neither is better; they are different billing models, and we tell you which applies to each home before you book rather than let you discover it later.
Thailand is the outlier, and worth knowing about. At the upper end of the Thai market a villa manager, daily housekeeping, and a private chef cooking both Thai and Western menus are standard rather than an extra. That is not a promotion — it is simply how the market works there, and it is why a fully staffed beachfront estate in Phuket or Koh Samui costs a fraction of its Caribbean equivalent.
In the Caribbean and Mexico, a chef is usually a daily rate plus groceries — and for a group of eight, a chef-cooked dinner at the villa is very often cheaper than the same meal in a good restaurant, before you count the taxis and the babysitter. In the Alps, a chalet host and chef are normally bundled into a catered package, with breakfast, afternoon tea, and dinner on most nights included.
Getting the best from it. Tell us who is eating and their ages — a chef cooking for four adults plans a completely different week from one feeding two toddlers and six grown-ups. Tell us the allergies in detail. And tell us how you actually want to eat: most groups want breakfast daily, a few big dinners, and the freedom to go out. Say so, and the chef builds around it. Many will also take you to the market or teach the children to cook, which on a rainy day is worth more than any excursion.
Every villa here is booked directly with us — no platform fees. Tell us your dates, your group, and how you want to eat, and we will confirm exactly which homes include a chef, what the others would cost, and match you to a chef who suits your table.
