This unique island home was once the property of its namesake, the artist Jasper Johns and was designed and built In the mid 70s by the celebrated post modern architect Philip Johnson. The property has recently undergone a complete renovation and whilst upgrades have been made to the level of comfort and amenities, much care and attention was taken to ensure that the Johnson ethos of minimalism and purity of line was preserved and that the soul of the house remained intact. Dining The chalet’s private chef will ensure you are well fed and watered from the moment you wake to the moment your head hits the pillow. ‘Wake-up’ drinks are brought to your bedside each morning to ease you gently into the day. Choose from hot chocolate, tea, coffee or freshly squeezed juice. Downstairs, bacon and eggs await you, alongside pastries, bread and jams, porridge, cereals and fruit and yoghurts. When you return from your day’s skiing, afternoon tea with freshly baked cakes will be waiting ready to warm you through. You’ll have just enough time for a soak in the hot tub and to slip into something more glamorous before drinks and canapés are served, while your chef prepares you a delicious four-course dinner, always matched with a selection of house wines (a selection of fine wines are available at additional cost). The meal is rounded off with a cheeseboard and port and coffee. If you prefer a low-key meal one evening your chef will be delighted to prepare delicious home comforts for a simpler option. On the chef’s nights off, your host will be happy to book a table for you in one of Morzine’s wonderful eateries. Kids Children are welcome at Chalet Bouquetin and older ones will enjoy the cinema room – perfect for a movie matinee on a chilly afternoon – as well as the Xbox. The bedrooms are generously sized and the master suite in particular would be ideal for accommodating a cot. The chef will be pleased to prepare a separate children’s tea to appeal to younger palates and nannies and babysitters can be arranged on request. It’s worth noting that there are steps down to both the living room and the hot tub terrace which may prove tricky for newly mobile children.
