Your holiday at the hacienda begins with classic Mexican snacks and margaritas, and the staff of chef, houseman and housekeeper are on hand six days a week. After a breakfast cooked to order, step out to the terrace for a swim in the infinity pool, a soak in the shaded hot tub or a morning of reading in a lounger facing the Pacific. As the sun sinks toward the horizon, heat up the barbecue and flip on the outdoor sound system to set the stage for an evening around the al-fresco table for twelve. Hacienda de los Santos sets a romantic tone with custom-designed architecture inspired by traditional Mexican style. Step through wrought-iron gates and carved doorways into a haven with gorgeous tikul flooring and vaulted brick bÃ³veda ceilings. Copper and crystal chandeliers cast a glow over comfortable open-plan living and dining areas, thoughtfully furnished with modern artwork and beautiful antiques. Though a chef service is included, you may not be able to resist using the fully equipped kitchen, which has views of the bay and striking blue and white Spanish Alhambra tiles.

There are four bedrooms in the main house and one in a private guest house; all have en-suite bathrooms. In the main house, all four bedrooms have king beds and access to one of the terraces. The guest house has a queen bed, living area and kitchenette, and could be used as a honeymoon suite thanks to its separate entrance.

Though the hacienda sits high above the bay in the quiet enclave of Real de Conchas Chinas, its a less than a 15-minute drive to your choice of three beaches and the Malecon, Puerto Vallartas historic oceanfront boardwalk. Book a snorkeling expedition around the stunning rock formations of Los Arcos, or a tee time at one of several nearby golf courses.
